NPP to sanction polling station executives who vacate post

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is to sanction polling station executives who vacate their posts in an electoral area and move to another electoral area without approval from their regional chairmen.

In furtherance of that, regional secretariats have been asked to engage in an audit to delete names of polling station executives who vacate their respective areas to live elsewhere leaving the party work unattended to.

According to the leadership of the party, polling station executives cannot stay elsewhere and work elsewhere which is likely to affect the fortunes of the party in upcoming elections.

Robert Kutin, the Central Regional Chairman of the NPP, made this known at the NPP National Women’s Conference held in the Central Region.

He directed all party polling station executives to stay in their various areas and work hard to win more electorate for the party or be penalised and noted that “it is your responsibility as a polling station executive to be in your polling station before and after the elections, how can you be a polling station executive in Mankessim and stay in Accra, this is not right according to the NPP constitution.

“I caution every polling station executive to stay in your various polling stations and work hard to retain power in the 2020 elections and also to ensure the four remaining parliamentary seats occupied by the National Democratic Congress in the Central Region and other regions will be wrestled from them in the impending general election.

“Just as we worked very hard to win the 19 seats we currently occupy in the Central Region, we will intensify our work once again to wrestle the four remaining seats from the National Democratic Congress which can be achieved through your support and assistance, it is the responsibility of every NPP member, supporter, well wisher and faithful to help maintain our seats and wrestle those from the ‘orphan constituencies’ in the 2020 elections and beyond,” Mr Kutin intimated. -kasapafmonline.com
