NPP launches ‘Capture Youth Wing’s Orphan Constituencies’ project

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a project to sensitise the youth within the party to vigorously campaign in ‘orphan constituencies’- that is, where the party has no sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).

It is also to engage and interact with youth leaders and youth organisations in the country on the achievements of the government and the party in order for them to buy into its ideals.

To enhance and facilitate the project, motorcycles, laptops vehicles and other logistics have been presented to the Regional Youth Wings of the party to support and assist sitting MPs and parliamentary candidates-elect.

The projects seeks to equip, re-orient, and re-tool the youth leadership of the party towards victory in the 2020 elections and beyond.

Addressing constituency youth organisers of the party to launch the project in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Henry Nana Boakye, the National Youth Organiser of the NPP, entreated the youth of the party to work harder than what they did in 2016 to enable the party to retain power in 2020 and beyond.

“We must not be complacent in our forward march to retain power in the 2020 elections but work harder than what we did in the 2016 elections to avoid the confidence and trust reposed in our party did not wane for our political opponents to take advantage.

“The youth wing’s orphan constituency project has since its inception reached out to the Upper West, Savannah, Northern, Ahafo, Western, Western North and Eastern regions to engage and interact with youth leaders and youth organisations to woo them to our party, especially those who were yet to decide on who to vote for.

“I admonish constituency youth organisers and their deputies and the various Tertiary Students Confederacy to support and assist their MPs to retain their seats and parliamentary candidates-elect to win their seats within the orphan constituencies for the party since elections are about numbers. -abcnewsgh.com
