Kamal-Deen
Abdulai, a Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has
commended the government for its performance on the macroeconomic front since
it assumed office in January 2017.
He noted that the NPP government is doing better
with holding inflation and deficits down than the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
did within its eight years in governance.
Making the assessment of the NPP-led government over three years in power,
Mr Abdulai said: “When we took over power, NDC had taken us through a mess,
even when we thought they had managed the economy well, we realised they had
really done the nation a disservice but the government has succeeded in turning
around fundamentals of economy, which we inherited from John Mahama-led
administration, ensuring currently, all fundamentals pointing in right
direction.
“I believe the Nana Akufo-Addo-led
administration has so far done a fantastic job managing the country since the
NDC collapsed the economy which took the timely intervention of the government
to salvage the country from the mess, it has been our major objective, and so
far so good we are realising them,” Mr Abdulai touted.
He maintained
that former President Mahama is a bad alternative for the country hence he
should be rejected by the citizenry in 2020 elections, because the citizenry
are not ready for another regrettable history from him and his NDC folks and
pointed out that,
“Most citizens least expected and even
questioned why former President Mahama would want to undertake another quest to
lead the NDC.
“I want them to know they are not coming back to
power, and the Free Senior High School policy has come to stay, they did not
know the citizenry are no longer interested in entrusting the NDC with power,
the president will give us another opportunity to tell NDC they live in another
world and we also live in another world.
“The NDC failed to deliver on their
promises, mismanaged the economy, embezzled state funds hence should not be
allowed to rule again, I appeal to Ghanaians to reject former President Mahama
in the 2020 elections and NDC should never be an alternative, mismanagement
under NDC government was enormous. It plunged the nation into huge debts,”
