NPP has honoured its promises to citizenry-Asenso-Boakye

Francis Asenso-Boakye, a Deputy Chief of Staff has described the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a party of credibility as it has always honoured its promises to the citizenry.

According to him, the NPP has since the era of President Agyekum Kuffour, initiated policies, interventions and programmes that had transformed the lives of the citizenry in fulfillment of its manifesto promises.

Addressing members of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Institution Confederacy (TESCON) of the NPP, Mr Asenso-Boakye indicated that an assessment of the manifesto pledges of the party and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the years justified his point.

“The transformation of the economy from a low income to a middle income, repeal of Criminal Libel Law, introduction of National Health Insurance Scheme among other pro-poor policies, programmes and interventions as key pledges that were honoured by the Kufour-led administration.

“The Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration has since 2017, initiated a number of programmes in fulfillment of its manifesto promises ahead of the 2016 elections, notable among them, introduction of the Free SHS Policy, Planting for Food and Jobs, and One District-One Factory, are landmark policies aimed at alleviating poverty among the citizenry.

“The current government is fulfilling most of the campaign promises, introduction of Free SHS, One District-One Factory, Planting for food and jobs among others are landmark policy interventions that will alleviate our people from poverty, I urged members of TESCON to uphold principles of sacrifice, service and patriotism in your quest to take up leadership positions in future and contribute to national cohesion, growth and development.

“I encouraged you to take advantage of opportunities offered by the group as platform has produced many distinguished political leaders including, Isaac Asiamah, the Minister for Youth & Sports, Charles Owiredu, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Martin Agyei-Mensah Korsah, the Deputy Minister of Regional Reorganisation and Development and to rally behind the party to win the 2020 elections and beyond towards our transformation agenda of the country,” Mr Asenso-Boakye underscored. -abcnewsgh.com
