The Chief of Ashaiman, Nii Annang Adzor, has presented 100 pieces of branded T-shirts to the Ashaiman District Football Association on Wednesday.

The presentation from the divisional council was to support the ongoing Juvenile League and also to award players who excel in matches.

Speaking at the event, Nii Adzor pledged to offer his support in developing football in Ashaiman.

“I can’t do this alone. With the support of the Member of Parliament and the Municipal District Assembly, Ashaiman football will move to the next level. We have been abandoned when it comes to football and it has been our biggest challenge. We can’t boast of any good pitches, yet we have good talents here,” he said.

He lauded the good works by the association in the ongoing juvenile and third division league and assured them that, together with the MP, District Assembly and other opinion leaders, they would channel the challenges faced by the FA to the government so they can also benefit from the share of good pitches.

Receiving the items, District FA Chairman, Mr Raphael Tommy, thanked Nii Adzor for his unflinching support and urged other opinion leaders and individuals to emulate same.

He also used the opportunity to channel the challenges faced by FA which includes financing, infrastructure and personnel to the appropriate authorities.

Nii Adzor was optimistic about the future of Ashaiman football.
