NGO supports Krisan Camp residents

Passion for Needy, a non-governmental charity organisation last Friday donated assorted items worth GH¢69,000 to the Krisan Camp residents, in the Ellembele District of the Western Region.

The items were bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish, tomatoe paste, bottled water and food flasks, hands sanitisers, soap, toiletries, Veronica buckets, and masks.

The Chairperson of the NGO, Janet Torgbor El-Aschkar, who presented the items to the Camp Manager, Bannerman Martins, said the gesture was to assist the residents cope with COVID-19.

“We believe a lot of you are facing economic challenges and our widow’s mite can help make a difference,” Janet Torgbor El-Aschkar said.

She said the donation was part of activities to mark the birthday (June 12) of the Founder of the NGO, and Senior Pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nation, TB Joshua.

Mr Martins thanked the NGO for its kind gesture and appealed to other groups and individuals to assist residents of the camp.

The Krisan Camp was established in 1996 by the Ghana Refugee Board, to house people, who had fled conflict-stricken countries, especially West African countries, to seek refuge in Ghana.
