Samuel Aboagye, the Election 2020 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has called for unity among the leadership and members to enhance the chances of the party in the 2024 elections.
“We must endeavour to ensure absolute peace, unity and harmony within our rank and file and use available resources to support and assist former President John Dramani Mahama to wrestle political power in the 2024 general election,” he stressed.
Mr Aboagye insisted that former President Mahama remained the best presidential candidate for the NDC in 2024, because he had an advantage over any other candidate in the NDC and was the only marketable candidate who could lead the NDC to victory in 2024.
“Former President John Mahama is a household name in our political space and if we make any mistake to change him, then we are doomed forever since the rising unemployment situation and high cost of living in the country has provided an enormous opportunity for the party to regain political power.
“Until the leadership, members, supporters, sympathisers, faithful and well-wishersof the party and those disgruntled bury their differences, it will be extremely difficult for the party to win the 2024 elections.
“We must bury our differences, unite, work hard, focused and steadfast to be able to rally floating voters and those undecided to join forces with them to make the NDC attractive to regain power in 2024,” Mr Aboagye cautioned. -GNA
