NDC raises concern over NCA boss representing NPP at IPAC meeting

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised red flags over the appearance of the Director-General of National Communication Authority (NCA) at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting as a representative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The meeting was to discuss a new procurement and collation of results using services of the telecommunication companies as the backbone to transmit 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary election results.

Joe Anokye, the Director-General of the NCA, who is in charge of a regulatory body of the telecommunication companies was surprisingly introduced at the IPAC meeting as representative of the NPP, the move, according to NDC, was “strange” and “unacceptable”.

Ofosu Ampofo, the National Chairman of the NDC, told members of the party in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, pointed out that “strange things are happening in the country, only a few days ago, there was an Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting at the Electoral Commission, the NPP introduced Joe Anokye, the Director-General of the National Communication Authority as representative of NPP at the meeting.

Speaking at a symposium and handing over ceremony by the Koforidua Technical University branch of Tertiary Institutions Network of the NDC (TEIN), he said the IPAC meeting was going to discuss new procurement for registration and collation of results, and the commission indicated it will use the telcos as backbone on which their system would operate. “The man who is in charge of regulating the telcos was now representing the NPP at IPAC, how?

“The NDC is monitoring and analysing all electoral processes to be deployed for 2020 elections to ensure that it is free, fair, credible and transparent, we’re hopeful of winning the 2020 elections but I charge members of the party, particularly students to be part of the rescue mission operation. I want it to engrave in your mind, rescue is not an easy task, rescue Ghana from tyrannical democratic rulers”.

Opare Addo, the National Youth Organizer of NDC, observed that NDC and John Mahama’s track records in the development of the country made the party a better alternative than NPP. -kasapafmonline.com
