Pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) group Electoral Justice Alliance (EJA) has observed that the party needs massive reforms to win the 2024 general election.
It said although the abysmal performance of the current administration positions the largest opposition party in an advantageous position to wrestle power in 2024, some changes within the hierarchy were needed to guarantee victory
“Although the abysmal performance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) positions the NDC in an advantageous position to wrestle power in 2024, some changes within the hierarchy of the party was needed to guarantee victory which must not be taken for granted or be complacent about,” the Group stressed
Ina statement signed and issued by Enoch Amoako Nsia, Convener for the group, said a large section of Ghanaians had lost confidence in the leadership and governance style of the government and the NDC has to take advantage of the situation to engage in massive reforms to repose, confidence and trust in them especially the electorates to win massively both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
It said former President John Dramani Mahama had the solution to country’s problems and challenges but he could only win power “if the current leadership of the NDC is changed because the party in its current state could not wrestle power from the NPP without massive reforms to repose, confidence and trust in the people.
The statement said there was growing demand for the return to power of the NDC in 2024 but that could be achieved “if the people realised radical changes in the hierarchy and dealings with the electorates and convincing campaign messages.
“The strong growing demand for change of leadership of the nation and vote back former President Mahama cannot happen if radical change does not take place in the NDC and there is the urgent need to shake up the leadership of the party from national down to the grassroots to make the party attractive, ready and poised to win back power in 2024,” it said. -3news.com
