Nana Okutseaku VIII unveiled Gyaasehen of Ampia Ajumako Traditional Area

Nana Kwame Baanyin Okutseaku VIII, was last Friday unveiled as Gyaasehen by the chiefs and people of Ampia Ajumako Divisional Area in the Central Region.

Known in private life as Bright Ishmael Ochir, the Gyaasehen was enstooled in 2015 but the coronation only took place recently.

He is expected to bring his expertise to bear in the running of the Ampia Ajumako Divisional Council in various ways that would help position the area for effective transformation.

There were rich display cultural performances coupled with traditional asafo dance and the firing of muskets.

The residents defied the rains to show their traditional dancing skills to the admiration of all gathered.

In his address, Nana Okutseaku VIII, expressed his commitment towards working members of the traditional council to promote unity and peaceful co-existence among residents in the area.

The promotion of unity and peaceful coexistence, he indicated, were prerequisite in bringing all citizens of the area, both home and abroad for the needed transformation and development.

He underscored the need for the citizens within the traditional area to dedicate their time and efforts towards initiatives that would uplift the image of the town, saying, “A town cannot move forward without the dedication and efforts of the citizens”.

The Gyaasehen further explained that, it was the sole responsibility of individuals towards the building of the homes or communities, noting that, they should not focus on others when it came to the divisional area.

He further expressed his commitment towards supporting the improvement of education in the area.
