Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang: NDC will preserve pacesetter status in nation’s political history

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the Running Mate to the 2020 National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has touted that the party will continue to prserve its pacesetter status in the nation’s political history.

“The NDC is the only political party in the country in record time to have documented its history and will continue to sustain the pacesetter status for the citizenry to appreciate which nullifies negative assertions by critics of the party,” she stressed.

According to her, the NDC would always become the pacesetter in the political history of the country which will be envious for other political parties to emulate because of its unique nature, attractive to the electorate and a formidable force in winning elections.

Speaking at the launch of the NDC’s Administrative History, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said the party would always be a pacesetter in the sense that even though some accuse the party of not reading and not being to school, it was the only party that had documented its administrative history in the form of a book.

“Coming up with a book should inform citizens who we truly are, what we are capable of, what we have achieved since our formation and can achieve moving forward which upsets so many of the misperceptions about us but we are not perturbed even though the United Gold Coast Convention and the United Party tradition are deliberately distorting the history of Ghana.

“The offspring of the tradition of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has further changed the history of the country making them appear to be the original founders of Ghana, so, part of the book will set the record straight on who the true founders of Ghana are and those who came to serve their selfish interests and NDC should be credited for the resilience the country showed during COVID-19 pandemic,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang pointed out.

Ofosu Ampofo, National Chairman NDC, maintained that the party would always be proud of its achievements, and it was important, after 30 years of existence, the party was able to chronicle its history for future generations and those interested in knowing Ghana’s political history.
