The Growth Director of Taptap Send Ghana, Darryl Kwame Mawutor Abraham has admonished Ghanaian youth to embrace change and innovation for the expected transformation of the continent.

“The rate of technological and digital advancement across the globe makes it imperative for you the youth of Ghana and Africa in general to accept the reality to buy into the concept of financial and other technologies including digitisation in commerce and all aspect of human life”, he stated.

Adding that, this would go a long way to enable the continent to break away from the yoke of under-development and poverty.

Mr Abraham made the call at the FEDxAccra conference sponsored by Taptap Send Ghana at the University of Ghana at the weekend.

It is to provide the opportunity for global sharing of ground-breaking ideas, experiences, philosophies and achievement catalysing change and creating positive impact.

The technology world, he said, was moving so fast that those countries which hesitate in boarding the train would be left over and would find it extremely difficult to catch up once the train passes by and that Africa was at the crossroad of either jumping onto the train or forever remain in the doldrums.

Mr Abraham maintained that it was to help accelerate the sustainable development of Africa and Ghana in particular that Taptap Send an international remittance firm was not charging fees for its services but sponsors and supports events like TEDxAccra in the quest for the right antidote to get the continent develop for the good of its people.

On his part, Mr Terry Kojo Oppong, organiser of TEDxAccra said the conference commended Taptap Send for the support, saying, that it was in line with the policy of the group’s vision to support Africans on the continent and in the diaspora who have demonstrated enough tenacity and hard work to share thoughts and ideas for the benefit of all, especially the host African countries.

Under the theme –Agents of Change, FEDxAccra 2022, the day’s event had speakers including Aisha Addo, founder of Power to Girls Foundation, Del Titus Bawuah, Founder, Web3 Afraica, Kenny Annan Jonathan, CEO, Mail Room, Stefania Manfreda, Founder Creative Lead &Curator Lokko House, Jabari Hall, Founder, JHASHEART, Michelle Sam, Writer, Filmmaker and Actress, Kwame Akoto-Bamfo, Founder, Nkyimkyim Museum, Nana Danso, a Contemporary Artist.
