MP donates fufu machine to chairman of PWDs in La

The chairman of the Federation of Persons with Disability (PWDs) and persons with mental health conditions at La in Accra, Mr Anthony Adarkwah, on Friday received a fufu grinding machine and an undisclosed amount of money from the Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dade-Kotopon Constituency, Ms Rita Naa Odoley Sowah in Accra.

The fufu machine which operates on fuel was purchased from the MP´s Common Fund and it is to enable him work and earn income to cater for his family.

According to Ms Sowah, a request was made to her by Mr Adarkwah, who was formerly working as a toll both attendant, to assist him to be productive and responsible as a family head.

The MP explained that she received the plea from Mr Adarkwa to go into fufu grinding business at home but even though the business was fast booming in the municipality, it would be expensive operating an electric grinding machine to achieve his goal.

She stressed that upon investigations she accepted Mr Adarkwah’s request and decided rather to get him a fuel grinding machine that can still operate when there was light outs so that he can still be in business.

She advised Mr Adarkwah to add cassava dough in addition to the fufu grinding business to enable him attract more customers and also work assiduously to purchase another grinding machine and employ more hands.

In his response, Mr Adarkwah thanked the MP for the quick response to his application and assured her that he would work hard to acquire more machines to enable him to expand his business.
