MoYS satisfied with NC work …as league enters wk.2

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Perry Curtis Okudzeto has expressed satisfaction with the work of the Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).

According to the Minister, their faith in the NC was further boosted with the start of the special competition aimed at bringing back local football in the country.

The NC, headed by Dr Kofi Amoah, was formed last year by FIFA to run football in the country following Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative piece that shook the foundation of football, causing the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to be dissolved.

“It is not easy to restore football or normalise a game that has been off for some time now. It takes a very long time and the NC has been up to the task so far,” he stated.

“We are satisfied so far with what has gone on and urge them to continue working hard to make sure football becomes a credible sport that is played fairly,” he stressed.

He said it was necessary for the special competition to be organised for local football to get back for both players and the fans that enjoy the game.

“It would also help the country get teams for continental football and other competitions at the local level,” he added.

The special competition began last weekend across the country and brought some life into local football in Ghana.

Meanwhile, the competition continues today across all centres and fans are looking forward to exciting games across the country.
