MoYS, GFA call on family of Atsu

A delegation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) and the Gha­na Football Association (GFA) and members of the football fraternity on Tuesday visited the family of the late Christian Atsu to commiserate with them.

The delegation which had the Deputy Min­ister of Youth and Sports, Mr Evans Bobie, was led by the FA’s Executive Council Member Nana Sarfo Oduro.

Other members included the Deputy General Secretary Alexander Asante and Diana Boateng – the Chief Protocol Officer of MoYS.

The Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Ev­ans Bobie and Nana Sarfo Oduro later signed the Book of Condolence opened in honour of the former Black Stars player.

Meanwhile, former Black Stars captain, Ste­phen Appiah, also led a delegation of footbal­lers an friends to greet the family.

Christian Atsu Twasam, a former player of FC Porto, Chelsea FC, AFC Bournemouth, Everton and Newcastle United was found dead in the rubble of the recent earthquake that ravaged some parts of Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6, 2023.

The One Week Observance will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

Christian Atsu made his Ghana debut on June 1, 2012 and went on to make 65 appearances and scored nine goals for the Black Stars in an international career that spanned seven years. –GFA
