Mouganie, Jiang excel at FBN@25 golf tourney

Jeffery Mouganie emerged winner of the FBN@25 golf tournament which came off at the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club in Accra on Saturday.

The experienced golfer recorded a net score of 63 to walk away with the ultimate trophy in the keenly contested Men’s Category A event.

He was followed by Eric Ofosu-Hene who recorded a net score of 64 to take the second position while Tony Mintah settled for the third position with 65 points.

In the Ladies event, Sarah Jiang emerged the overall winner with 62 net score while Georgina Andoh followed in second position with 62 points.

There were other trophies for the Ladies Nearest to the Pin which was won by Sarah Jiang while the Longest Drive went to Belinda Kumako.

The Men’s Closest to the Pin was won by Lloyd Kusi while 14-year-old Rickie Hurtubise was the Longest Drive Men winner.

There was also the Men Group B category won by Stephen Onaivi with 59 points while Kenneth Adjei and Dani Kanaan settled for the second and third positions, respectively, with 61 points each.

The event saw an unprecedented attendance at the club with 96 golfers participating in the competition.

Speaking after the event, Chief Executive Officer of FBNBank, Mr Victor Asante congratulated the golfers for showing up and making the event successful.

“We are happy to hold the record for most participation and want to come back and break our own record as we intend to make the competition an annual one,” he stated.

He also expressed appreciation to clients and golfers for being with the bank as they celebrate its 25th anniversary.

“The competition forms part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations and we hope to use the platform to improve upon our business especially as we launch our premium banking position,” he stated.

He said, they were committed to providing the best banking solutions to clients across the country and beyond.
