More collaboration needed between MMDCEs, assembly members -Ibrahim Halidu

The Assembly Member for Alajo North Electoral Area, Ibrahim Halidu, has called for more collaborative efforts among Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), and assembly members to create sustainable development.

He explained that the work of the MMDCES and assembly members all centered on the well-being of people, hence the need for collective effort in bringing progress, growth and development to them.

“Progress, growth and development can only be brought to the door steps of communities through proper co-operation between assembly members and MMDCEs and when you move through communities or engage members of communities, they always tell you they want communities clean of filth, security, drains, potable water and good roads,” Mr Halidu stressed.

Speaking on the sidelines of the confirmation of Alhaji Mohammed Quaye, the Chief Executive for Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly, he noted that accelerated socioeconomic growth and development could be achieved when there was cordial relationship.

Alhaji Quaye, who was re-nominated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, received 100 per cent endorsement from the 17 assembly members confirmed him which was supervised by Municipal Election Director in the presence of the Regional Minister, Henry Quartey who doubles as Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.

Prior to Alhaji Quaye’s confirmation, he had undertaken several development projects in the electoral area and most of the intervention made included desilting of drains, reconstruction of culverts and repairs of broken down bridges.

As part of his vision to improve quality education, the vibrant assembly member organised free extra classes for the 2021 candidates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination in his electoral area.

Alhaji Quaye pledged to work with all stakeholders within the municipality to achieve development for the people and thanked assembly members for their honesty and hardwork over the years and promised to continue to work with them towards the betterment of the municipality.

While he promised to work to improve the revenue mobilisation target of the assembly, he urged residents to remain law abiding and give him their assistance and support to develop the area. -GNA
