Messi, Ronaldo top FIFA ratings

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are undoubtedly still the best footballers in the world.

Barcelona forward Messi was the top goal scorer across Europe last term, while Ronaldo enjoyed a fairly strong start to life at Juventus.

It could be argued that the Argentine has had a better last 12 months than his Portuguese counterpart, scoring 51 goals for his club, compared to Ronaldo’s 28.

And FIFA 20 has rewarded Messi by giving him a higher rating than Ronaldo – even if it is only the skin of his teeth.

For the upcoming instalment, Messi has been given a 94 rating – the highest rating for current players on the whole game.

Ronaldo trails him closely on 93, with PSG trickster Neymar one behind the Portugal skipper on 92.

Belgian duo Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne are joined by Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak on 91.

With a 90 rating and rounding off the top 10 are Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, as well as Luka Modric and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

And just missing a spot in the top 10 are the likes of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Tottenham striker Harry Kane – both rated 89.

Towards the bottom of the pile, there is room for Manchester United cast off Romelu Lukaku following his switch to Inter Milan, as well as Manchester City new boy Rodri, with both players rated 85. –Starsports
