Melcom Cares Foundation supports hospitals with medical fridges

Melcom Cares Foundation in Accra on Wednesday donated 10medical fridges to some selected hospitals.

Melcom Care Foundation, a charity organisation under the Melcom Group of Companies, aimsat giving care and relief to society.

Beneficiaries of the fridges were AchimotaHospital, Nyaho Medical Centre, 37 Military Hospital, Police Hospital, National Cardiothoracic Centre, Tema General Hospital, Nkoom Hospital, Adabraka Polyclinic and South Suntreso Government Hospital in Kumasi. 

Mr Godwin Avenorgbo, the Group Director of Melcom, stated that the donation was meant to commemorate the birthday of the late chairman of the company, Mr BhagwanKhubchadani.

He said the distribution of the medical fridges was to meet the cherished desire of Mr BhagwanKhubchadani

“Today’s assignment is to distribute medical refrigerators to medical facilities selected across board, both public and private to meet his long cherished desire to contribute to the welfare of the Ghanaian and all residents in Ghana,”MrAvenorgbo said.

Receiving the donation, Officer in-charge of Public Health Department at the Police Hospital, Deputy Commissioner of PoliceDr Samuel Otu-Nyarko, thankedMelcom Care Foundation for the support, and assured the fridges would be used for its intended purpose.

“The presentation of these pharmaceutical refrigerators will help us in the storage of vaccines and other drugs that we will receive and I say kudos to the Melcom Care Foundation,” he added.

The representatives of health facilities, said that, challenges they currently faced were limited bed space and the lack of adequate electrocardiograph.

They called on organisations and individuals to assist them in the provision of these items.
