Man stabbed to death

Francis Seidu Adongo, a 24-year-old tiler, was stabbed to death, last Friday at Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region.

He was pronounced dead by upon arrival at the Tumu Municipal Hospital around 2am.

Adongo, who is popularly known in Tumu as ‘Hallagbe’, met his untimely death last Friday dawn when he attended a vacation jam (entertainment) at the Tumu Community Centre.

Mohammed Bakuwie, a friend of the deceased, and an eyewitness, said he and his friend were about to enter the centre to take part in the entertainment when the suspect, KachuuGargo, stabbed him (Adongo) on the chest.

Bakuwie said the deceased after the attack attempted running, but fell down  on, and the suspect again stabbed him.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Stephen Abanga said the suspect is currently on the run and efforts are being made to arrest him.

He called on the citizens to volunteer information on the whereabouts of the suspect so that the police could arrested the assailant, adding that the body of the deceased has since been released to the family for burial. – GNA
