Man stabbed to death in scuffle

An 18-year-old man, who allegedly stabbed a man with a screw driver to death during a scuffle, has been arrested by the police at Neoplan Station in Accra.

The suspect, Jude Mensah, is in the custody of the police assisting in investigation, the Kaneshie Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)Edward Faakye-Kumi, disclosed to the Ghanaian Times, in Accra, yesterday.

He said Monday at about 1:30, Kweku Kwarteng assisted by others arrested and brought to the Neoplan station, Jude Mensah together with a screw driver.

ACP Faakye-Kumi said they reported that Mensah was spotted fighting with the deceased,Saani Osman, at Neoplan Lorry station, and suspect used screw driver to stab him (Osman) and he fell unconscious.

He said Osman was rushed to the Sape Agbo Clinic at Kotobabi, and when the police followed up to the health facility, they were told Osman died whiles receiving treatment.

ACP Faakye-Kumi said inspection on the body revealed multiple ‘stab’ wounds on the chest, neck and his head.

He said there also bruises on his knee and toe, and the body was conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary.
