Man nabbed for robbery, inflicting knife wounds on policeman

A man, who allegedly stabbed a policeman after he had robbed a woman, at Ashaley Botwe, in Accra, is assisting the police in inves­tigation.

Francis Addo, suspect, could not get away with the GH¢2,400.00 and iPhone 14 pro max he allegedly robbed Lovia Narh of.

Addo, however, inflicted knife wounds on General Constable Foster Alipoe Ablerh, who pursued and arrested him.

A police brief said,last Monday at about 9am, General Constable Ablerh of Accra Regional Police Command with a deep cut in his left palm, assist­

 ed by victim,Lovia Narh, a resident of Obundankadi, Ashaley Botwe, arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police at the Lakeside Community 8.

The source indicated that Narh suf­fered bruises on both knees and com­plained of headache.

The police said Narh reported that Addo, who was riding a motorcycle,at­tacked her with a knife at Obundankadi, Ashaley Botwe, assaulted and robbed her of GH¢2,400.00, and an iPhone 14 pro max valued at GH¢18,000.00 whilst on her way to the market.

The brief said General Constable Ablerh, who also lived in the neigh­borhood, heard of the robbery attack, chased the suspect with his personal motorcycle and intercepted him at Nmai Dzorn.

The suspect allegedly slashed the policeman’s left palm with a knife, when he (policeman) attempted to grab him (suspect).

The brief said Addo was overpow­ered by General Constable Ablerh.

The brief indicated that General Constable Ablerh and and Narh were is­sued with police medical forms to attend hospital.

The police have seized two knives and a blue royal motorcycle used by sus­pect in committing the crime. —GNA
