Man jailed 1 year for unlawful entry

The Hohoe Circuit Court sentenced Frank Yeboah, a 23-year-old unemployed, to one year imprisonment, for unlawful entry and attempt to commit crime.

Yeboah pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Charles Aziati, told the court presided over by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey that the convict and the complainant were neighbours.

He said that in July 28, 2022, the complainant left her house for work, and Yeboah scaled the fence wall, entered the house of the complainant and attempted to break into the house.

The prosecution said the noise caught the attention of some neighbours, who saw the convict attempting to open the door.

Chief InspAziati said Yeboahtold the neigbours that the complainant had asked him to collect rubbish from her compound.

The court heard that when the neighbours were persistently asking Yeboah why he was in the house, he bolted, but was chased and arrested.

Chief Insp Aziati said when the neighbours contacted the complainant via phone, call about Yeboah’s presence in her house, she denied inviting the convict to the place carry out any work.

The prosecution said the complainant together with a witness in the case brought the convict to the police station. -GNA
