A team of Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) officers have arrested Samuel Asante, 38, at the Christiansburg Castle Junction, Accra, for trading in substances suspected, to be Indian hemp.
A brief from the police said the suspect was arrested at about 10.45 am and upon a thorough search, some items were retrieved from his room.
The police indicated that the items included; seven sacks full of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and 10 bottles of alcoholic drinks braced with substance, suspected to be Indian hemp.
The brief said the police Service would continue to adopt strategies to rid communities of criminals, to prevent crime and ensure law and order.
The police appealed to the public to assist the police with information to enable them maintain law and order. – GNA
