The newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for the Asutifi North Constituency, Iddrisu Issah, has appealed to the executives to work harder to unite the rank and file of the NDC in the area, in order to secure victory in the 2024 elections.
“We have to work harder to unite the rank and file to attract more voters to the party in order to secure a resounding victory in the next elections so that Ghanaians will once again have trust and confidence in the party to transform the ailing economy,” he indicated.
Mr Issah, who made the appeal after the election of newly elected constituency executives to steer the affairs of the party in the next four years after a total of 943 delegates voted for 48 aspirants who were vying for 15 positions in all the four zones of the constituency.
He won the chairman position with 628 votes against his rival, Issifu Adams’ 249 votes.
Iddrisu Mohammed won the vice chairman position with 676 against Douglas Ntim Adjei’s 201 votes; In the Secretary position, Mubarak Abdul Razak won with 398 while Johnson Ntim had 264 votes and Patrick Bofah got 212 votes; Nuhu Dauda got the Deputy Secretary role with 500 votes against 311 vote for Adams Iddrisu.
Lukeman Adams was elected treasurer with 519 votes against 354 for Lukeman Issah while Mohammed Abass won the deputy treasurer position with 483 votes and Issac Adzinyo had 389 votes. Solomon Laari won the organiser position with 555 votes against George Boamah’s 320 votes while Abdul -Malik Jaafah had 659 votes with Issah Seidu polled 204 votes.
Nicustina Forkuo won the women’s organiser position with 79 votes against Margaret Adjei’s 22 votes, while Issaka Bawa won the communication officer position with 627 votes and 216 votes for Amos Saani and 29 votes for Kwadwo Ansah.
In the youth organiser position, Emmanuel Kornor won with 36 votes, 28 votes for Adams Abuu, 25 votes for Sylvester Osei and 14 votes for Samuel Akuamoah and Patricia Oteng won the deputy organiser position with 93 votes while Bright Amponsah had 10 votes.
Mr. Issah urged members, supporters and well-wishers of the party to engage in a door-to-door campaign to convince constituents to vote for the party to regain power.
