Let’s work hard to attain Ghana Beyond Aid – Spencer Duncan

Reverend Professor Spencer Duncan is convinced that the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda can be attained, if the citizenry worked diligently, resolved and showed commitment towards the goal.

“There is the need for us as citizens to work hard, be diligent, resolve and commit towards achieving Ghana Beyond Aid, in order to make it successful through supporting and assisting implementation of governments policies and programmes,” he stressed.

Making the conviction during a sermon delivered at a thanksgiving service held in Accra to climax the civil service week, Rev. Prof. Duncan observed that civil servants represented the arm of the government and that made them crucial elements when it came to the successful implementation of government policies, programmes and interventions.

The civil service week and awards night was being celebrated under the theme: ‘Improving Service Delivery to Promote Ghana Beyond Aid.”

Rev. Prof. Duncan indicated that “Considering the key position that civil servants occupied in the country, it is important for you to take initiatives towards supporting and assisting the developmental policies, programmes and interventions of the government, if we want resources to come to our ministry. Let our vision be clear, if you work and are concerned, you take initiative without being told”.

“Citizens in positions of leadership must be selfless and strive to be representatives of the people whose concerns they are supposed to address, what is needed for the country’s growth and development is selfless leadership that did not seek self-gratification, but which is only concerned about the well-being of the citizenry they represented”. -gna.org
