Let’s prepare to wrestle power from NPP in 2024–NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has challenged members, supporters and faithful to prepare adequately to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024.

It cautioned that without adequate and feverish preparation it would be difficult for the party to ‘break the 8’ mantra to form the next government in 2024.

The leadership of the party consoled the rank and file and tasked them to remain focus, steadfast and resolute and not be dejected and become complacent which could derail the processes to win the next elections.

Ofosu Ampofo, the National Chairman of the NDC, threw the challenge and restated the fact that the party was cheated in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections – it won a parliamentary majority.

He consoled the rank and file of the party and asked members not to be dejected but walk with their heads high, while preparing for the 2024 polls to snatch power from the NPP which had disappointed Ghanaians by mismanaging the economy.

He assured well-wishers and sympathisers of the party the NDC would win the next general election with peace, unity, cohesion and harmony with support and assistance from leadership, constituency and branch level executives to work hard to garner more votes attained in the 2020 elections.

“We did not lose the elections because our parliamentary seats shot up from 106 to 130, of which we were expecting 140 seats, but we will ensure we work harder to wrest power in 2024,’’ Mr Ampofo said.

Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the NDC, insisted the party would leave nothing to chance in its quest to win the 2024 elections by ensuring that the right things were done at the polling station and collation centres since the party had learnt lessons the hardest way and thus devised better strategies going into the next elections.

“We have learnt our lessons from the previous elections, we have new tactics to use in the 2024 elections and that is why we said the elections will be a “do or die” affair at the polling station and collation centres,’’Mr Nketia reiterated. –ghanaweb.com
