‘Let’s create system for fair distribution of opportunities’

A National Organiser aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Essilfie Kumi, has assured of fair distribution of opportunities if given the nod as national organiser of the party after the national executive conference.

“Grounds are not fertile as we had in 2016 and the party has suffered – where we are now, it is as if there is no system for fair distribution of opportunities that will get to everyone irrespective of the location,” he observed.

Mr Kumi noted that the system he would implement would break the inequality in distribution of opportunities and help to tone down tension and  his prime goal was to make “NPP bright again and rally delegates to support and assist his bid to turn issues around and make the party more attractive on the ground.

“I want to organise the party to become formidable because I just do not want the break the eight to be just sloganeering but there should be some kind of plan and policies and how we intend to implement it to achieve objective,” he said.

Proposing wide-ranging measures to strengthen party structures at all levels to enable NPP retain power in the 2024 general election, Mr Kumi, the 2020 parliamentary candidate for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency, disclosed that his engagements with members, supporters and sympathisers of the party especially at the grassroots indicated that the ground was not fertile and there was need for the party to work to appease its base and win the support of everyone.

According to him, sympathisers, well-wishers and faithful of the party at the grassroots as well as financiers of the party were angry with the party due to what he described as unfair distribution of opportunities and lamented members and supporters who worked hard to secure victory for the NPP in 2016 and 2020 elections had been side-lined.

“As a result of lack of data to assess inputs and contribution of our members and supporters and reward them accordingly, if I am given the mandate as National Organiser for the NPP, my regime will set up a database system to ensure fair distribution of opportunities for them and business community investing in the party.

“Although the party has made significant strides since it assumed office in 2016, it has failed to effectively and efficiently communicate its achievements to the citizenry however, my administration will set up the National Communication Institute to train members and supporters of the party in their own language at all levels to articulate the ideals, ideologies, achievements and policies of NPP,” Mr Kumi assured. -GNA
