Legon Cities, Dreams FC record wins

Jonah Attuquaye scored in the second half as Legon Cities beat King Faisal 1-0 at the Elwak Sports Stadium in the match week 17 clash of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Attuquaye came close in the 16thminute but his effort hit the outside of the post before coming back into play.

Both teams looked lively from then on, but Legon Cities looked the hungrier of the two as they kept searching for the opener.

Jonah Attuquaye found the much needed goal inside 62nd minutes after getting on the end of Hans Kwofie’s cross to slot home from close range – his fourth of the campaign.

The win has moved the Royals out of the relegation zone as they jump from 15th to 12th position with 21 points.

Legon Cities who have lost one match in their last five outings will welcome Champions Accra Hearts of Oak to the Elwak Stadium when the second round resumes.

At Tarkwa, Dreams FC defeated Medeama SC 1-0 in their rained off Premier League fixture on Monday morning.

The match was rescheduled for Monday due to a heavy down pour in Tarkwa on Sunday, making the Akoon Community field unplayable.

Sylvester Simba scored the only goal of the match on 31 minutes to hand the host victory.

Dreams FC were dominant in the entire period of the game as they showed class, hunger and desire to outwit the Mauve and Yellows in their own backyard. –FA
