The Cantonments and the Kojo Sardine mosques received 15 bags of rice each, two bags of sugar and four cartons of tin milk, while the Mother Mosque La was presented with 50 bags of rice, eight cartons tin milk and five bags of sugar.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Reverend Solomon KoteyNikoi, presenting the items urged Muslims to continue praying for the assembly, and the government for the peace and progress of the country.

Muslims, he explained, had always used the fasting period to pray fervently for the nation, hence the assembly’s widow’s mite to support them in their endeavours.

“This is just to support them during the fasting season, more will come when the period comes to an end,” he added.

The MCE urged the Muslims community to be mindful of the scourge of the COVID-19 pandemic, and still maintain the protocols to be safe from the virus.

Touching on the “Operation Clean your frontage” campaign, Rev.Nikoi charged the residents selling along the street to be mindful of the repercussions of disobeying the directions.

He said cleaning of the drains in front of their shops would help prevent the spread of malaria and other communicable diseases, adding that “the rains are almost setting in we have to adequately prepare in order not to be overtaken by events.”

The chair of the Muslims Advisory Board, Osman Ashitey, commended the assembly for the support and explainedthat Allah would greatly reward them for annually supporting their fasting periods.

The Chief Imam of the Kojo Sardine Mosque, Imam Alhaji Ibrahim Tijani, said the assembly’s gesture was worth emulating adding “we will continue to pray for the MCE, for his leadership style that continues to cement the bond between all religions in the municipality.”

Allah would continue to support your laudable initiatives we ask for Allah’s blessing for all your efforts.
