LaDMA inaugurates census c’ttee

A nine-member Municipal Census Implementation Committee for the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) was inaugurated on Thursday to spearhead the implementation of the Population and Housing Census (PHC) exercise expected in start on June 28 this year in the municipality.

The committee, chaired by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) of the assembly, Mr Daniel Nkrumah is mandated to supervise all activities during the pre-census, main census and post census stages.

Other institutional representatives on the committee are the La Traditional Council, the Municipal Health Office, the Municipal Information Office, the Municipal National Commission of Civic Education, the Municipal Planning Office, the Municipal Education Office, the Municipal Statistics Office and the Municipal Census Office.

On behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, the Presiding Member for the assembly, Mr Emmanuel Baah, tasked the committee members to go the extra mile in ensuring a successful implementation of the exercise in order for the data collected to assist the assembly in enhancing its developmental policies and programmes for the people.

“A successful outcome of the PHC exercise will assist the assembly improve policy making and the implementation of programmes in the municipality for the benefit of the people,” he said.

According to the PM, the exercise would provide a platform for an interactive dialogue between users and providers of data in the development planning and monitoring of policies and programmes.
