Labadi Beach Hotel fetes Street Academy kids

Officials of the Labadi Beach Hotel at La on Friday continued with their “Friday-lunch-giving-spree’ to pupils of the Street Academy at the Arts Centre in Accra.

The visiting team: Chef Ahingwah Akwetey, Sales and Marketing Coordinator Phoebe Odom and another official provided about 70 kids with rice with stew and ‘huge’ fried chicken.

“We were approached by one of our sales coordinators, George Kwame Ayisi, and via him we have been in touch with the Street Academy,” said Mr. Akwetey.

“We have been bringing lunch to the Academy every Friday for nearly four years; and luckily for us, there have not been any difficulties because the Academy always has a volunteer coming for the meal.” It is our intention to continue to assist the Academy, and I will encourage anyone who can help to do so,” he added.

Director of the Street Academy, Ataa Lartey, thanked the Labadi Beach Hotel for their continued support of providing lunch for the children on Fridays, in the last four years.

“There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing a smile on someone’s face, and that satisfaction is multiplied tremendously when you are the cause of that smile.

“It is difficult to find someone who is committed to doing such a nice gesture, thus I appreciate Labadi Beach Hotel’s consistency. Our Fridays are always guaranteed with them bringing us lunch,” he added.

The Street Academy blends education, culture, and sports to reveal the hidden potentials of Accra’s street kids.
