Kwadwo Mpiani: NPP must tackle indiscipline, unemployment to break 8-yr cycle

Kwadwo Mpiani, a former chief of staff under the erstwhile Kufuor-led Administration, has cautioned that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can win the 2024 polls and break the 8-year political cycle if it is able to tackle indiscipline within the rank and file and unemployment.

“We can win Election 2024 and break the 8-year political cycle if leadership, members and supporters conduct themselves in a disciplined and respectful manner and create opportunities for employment will determine if that will happen,” Mr Mpiani stressed.

He decried that indiscipline and other unacceptable conduct by the leadership, members and supporters of the party and government officials must be checked although President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government were doing well but there are a number of challenges and problems to be resolved.

According to him, the president must among other issues critically check the behaviour of his appointees, supporters and members of the party since there were lots of problems and challenges however, ensure attitudinal change, commencing from the government to the citizenry.

“President Akufo-Addo is doing well but there are lots of problems and challenges, no doubt about that, what I want to him do, is to ensure attitudinal change, starting from the government to Ghanaians which he must look at critically if he is able to do that, he can solve our problems and challenges.

“The abuse of sirens by government officials is an example of one of the attitudes I expect the government to check, approach to governance and behaviour of officials to the society, for instance, abuse of sirens which I find to be indiscipline because Kufuor-led Administration were not doing that, “Mr Mpiani intimated.

He suggested that, in order to guarantee victory in the 2024 elections, the NPP must work hard, ensure discipline among government officials, and show it was working to address the issue of unemployment which was extremely worrying and would be factored in the upcoming polls.

“It is possible to break the 8 years of political party electoral cycle depending on how we carry ourselves between now and the next elections in 2024 so we need to check the indiscipline, work hard, remain focused and address unemployment,” Mr Mpiani proffered. –citinewsroom.com
