Krowor constituency chairman urges peace ahead of polling station election

The Krowor Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Greater Accra Region, Joseph Attah Gyimah, has urged his constituents to maintain the peace, unity and harmony currently prevailing ahead of the forthcoming polling station executive election tomorrow.

“I dare say that we failed to retain our parliamentary position in Krowor Constituency because of disunity; that was very sad. Indeed, as Chairman, I did all that I could to bring us together ahead of the 2020 December polls, but the cracks were too deep than I had imagined,” he decried.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghanaian Times yesterday, Mr Gyimah said without peace, unity and harmony it was impossible to put their act together and forge forward strongly for the ultimate aim of retaining power.

“Heartily, we have all learned from our mistakes, put the differences behind us and we are increasingly forging ahead as a family as we chart a refreshing path towards victory in 2024,” he asserted.

The 49-year-old businessman said he organised a ‘love feast’ last December where bags of rice, chicken and other food items were donated to party executives in the 12 zones of the constituency “after which an open meeting was held with all those who mattered, to iron out our differences”.

According to the Krowor NPP Chairman, available records indicated that the constituency was always successful at the polls whenever there was peace, unity and harmony, “and that is why I am calling on the constituency and polling station executives, electoral area coordinators and party members and supporters among others, to endeavour to maintain the wind of peace, unity and harmony blowing at the moment”.

Mr Gyimah explained that the constituency had put a lot of measures in place to ensure that there was an incident-free polling station executive election saying “we have sat down with election committees and lined up requisite modalities to ensure we get it right again, just as in the sale of nomination forms that went smoothly without hitches”.

Mr Gyimah confirmed that he would be seeking re-election as Chairman of the Krowor Constituency which date is slated from April 22 to 24 to be supervised by the National Executive Committee.
