Kumasi Asante Kotoko has unveiled new home and away kits for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier league season.
Prior to the event, the launch enjoyed sustained media hype on various Asante Kotoko social media platforms under the tagline “Ammamere 2021” with the Porcupine Warriors releasing their new designs via social media platforms twitter and Facebook.
Manufactured by Italian kit giants, Errea, the home kit is designed in the ‘Porcupine Warriors’ popular red colours with various Akan traditional Adinkra symbols emblazoned on the front display of the jersey.
The away kit, which also bears Adinkra symbols on the front, comes in a yellow shirt and deep green shorts.
The Kotoko official handle described the Adinkra symbols as “decorative functions that also represent objects that encapsulate evocative messages that convey traditional wisdom and aspects of life.”
Kotoko continue their three year partnership with Errea after the two sides reached an agreement last year with the Italian manufacturers designing Kotoko’s home and away kits last season to mark their 85th Anniversary celebrations.
The playing body and technical team of the 2020/21 league runners-up are currently on break and are set to resume next month ahead of the new league season that will commence in October.
