Kumasi Asante Kotoko snatched the three points from visiting Medeama SC after beating them 1-0 in their week 11 Ghana Premier League, at the Baba Yara Stadium, yesterday.

Kotoko forced the visitors to sit back at their own half until the 31st minute when the tides turned in favour of Medeama whose midfielder, Godknows Dzakpasu, headed home a rebound from the post but it was ruled offside.

Fourteen minutes into the second half, referee Bulu Charles Benle, awarded a penalty to the Reds when George Mfegue fell in the box.

Sherif Mohammed planted the ball firmly with the referee ignoring a vehement protest by Medeama that the player kicked the ball twice.

On Saturday, Karela United ended their winless streak with a 2-1 win against leaders Aduana FC at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

Samuel Kumi netted first in the 35th minute to give Karela United a well-deserved lead before Evans Adomako added the second goal on the hour mark.

The former champions later pulled one back through Gabriel Mensah in the 78th minute.

Elsewhere, Bechem United continued their fine form with a 2-1 win over Kpando Heart of Lions.

Augustine Okra opened the scoring in the 19th minute to give Bechem United a slim first half lead with Gabriel Tenlep adding the second goal 13 minutes into the second half.

Samuel Agbenyegah reduced the deficit for Heart of Lions with a late goal.
