Kotoko Coach Seydou Zerbo fined by GFA for misconduct

Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Head Coach, Seydou Zerbo, has been fined GH¢2,000 for misconduct.

According to the Ghana Football Association charge, the Burkinabe trainer attempted to assault the match officials and made certain gestures during Kotoko’s league match against Bechem United FC on November 3, 2022.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee insists that Zerbo’s action was likely to put the game into disrepute.

The Porcupine Warriors coach pleaded guilty to the charge with an explanation for mitigation that he was dissatisfied with the performance of the referee.

But, his confrontation with the referee at the end of the game was not aggressive as it has been portrayed.

Kotoko pleaded with the Committee to consider him as a first-time offender and to assure the Association that the Club will continue to educate both players and technical team members on positive ways of reacting during matches.

Zerbo has subsequently been warned that any future misconduct may result in more severe punishment
