Jurgen Klopp has won yet another trophy this season. The Liverpool boss was awarded the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy for the LMA Manager of the Year.
Liverpool pushed Manchester City all the way in the Premier League title race and, although they finished second to Pep Guardiola’s side, Klopp received the award.
The German coach received the award for his team’s excellent Premier League campaign, while they have also lifted the Carabao Cup and FA Cup and reached the Champions League final.
Klopp spoke of his pride at winning the award that carries Sir Alex Ferguson’s name.
“It is a great honour and it was an insane season,” Klopp said.
“The last match day when only two games were meaningless and, in the rest, we all played for absolutely everything.”
“It was a bit nervy, it wasn’t the best outcome for us, but we are already over it.
“And when you win a prize like this you are either a genius or you have the best coaching staff in the world, I am here with four of my coaching staff, and they know how much I appreciate them.”
The award is decided based on votes from the coaches of the four main divisions of English football: the Premier League, the Championship, League One and League Two.
The other coaches who received the most votes were Steve Cooper (Nottingham Forest), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Eddie Howe (Newcastle), Nathan Jones (Luton Town) and David Moyes (West Ham). -Marca
