Kingdom Exim Group highlights commitment to agric sector … after supporting Farmers’ Day with GH¢500,000

 The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kingdom Exim Group, Dr James Rajamani, has reiterated the compa­ny’s commitment to support the agriculture sector to grow in order for the country to have food security always.

He said, for instance, that the company would continue to support the education of farmers about good agronomic practices to help boost their productivity.

Dr Rajamani, who is also the chairman of the India Africa Trade Council (Central and West Africa), stated this in Accra yes­terday in an interaction with the Ghanaian Times about the company’s support to this year’s Farmers’ Day celebration and vision for the agriculture sector.

He said farmers were the backbone of the Ghanaian economy producing for ex­ports and to feed the country.

In all, the Kingdom Exim Group Ghana, a leading agro-commodity trading company, this year donated about GH¢500,000 to the Ghanaian government at the national, regional and district levels in support of the Farmers’ Day celebration.

Dr Rajamani said the gallant farmers in the country helped the Kingdom Exim Group to provide the right agro-commodi­ties for the international market.

“The working relationship between King­dom Exim Group and Ghanaian farmers over the years has been mutually bene­fitting,” he said and pledged the group’s continuous support towards the well-being of farmers.

Dr Rajamani noted that the group deemed it very necessary to give back to residents within the various communities in which the company operated.

The Managing Director of Kingdom Exim Group, Immanuel Rajamani, assured farmers and the government of his com­pany’s commitment to build the capacity of the farmers and sensitise them on the need to improve and maintain international farming standards in order to survive on the world market.

He said Kingdom Exim Group support­ed three regions and seven districts this year towards the 38th Farmers’ Day celebration.

The regions are Bono East, Ahafo Region and Upper West Region and the districts that benefitted from the support of Kingdom Exim Group Ghana were Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Techiman North and South, Nkoranza, Jaman North and South, Bole and Sawla districts.

Mr Rajamani said Kingdom Exim Group Ghana supported the 2022 Best Crop Farmer with GH¢25,000 and supported the Bono East Region alone with GH¢20,000.

Apart from the cash donation, he said the company provided other packages such as pesticides and weedicides to some farmers.

The 2022 National Farmers’ Day cele­bration was held on December 2, 2022 in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital on the theme ‘Accelerating agricultural devel­opment through value addition.’
