King Faisal protest against Tamale City dismissed

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has dismissed King Faisal FC’s protest case against Tamale City FC in relation to their betPawa Premier League Match week 30 game which was played at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

King Faisal FC protested against their opponent for fielding an unqualified player in the said match in the person of Isaac Mensah and Jireh Kojo Nissi.

The Disciplinary Committee, however, ruled that the player who played in the said match was duly qualified to play.

The GFA Prosecutor has however been tasked to investigate the registration of Jireh Kojo Nissi, locate and charge all guilty parties in his registration.

The decision has been communicated to all parties accordingly.

Meanwhile, champions, Asante Kotoko SC, drew 1-1 by Karela United in the betPawa Premier League on Monday.

The Porcupine Warriors conceded a second half goal to record yet another draw at the Baba Yara Sports stadium as their winless home run extended to three League matches on the spin.

Rashid Mohammed scored an own goal in the 29th minute after failing to clear a ball from John Tedeku. But Karela United drew level in the 75th minute through Fatawu Mohammed who got on the end of Emmanuel Owusu Boakye’s pass.

The draw takes Asante Kotoko to the fourth spot with 48 points – eight points behind leaders, Medeama SC, while Karela United sit in 16th place with 41 points. —GFA
