Juventus to rival Real for Tottenham star Eriksen

Juventus are ready to make a move for Tottenham Hotspurs star Christian Eriksen this summer.

The Spurs midfielder will have one year left on his contract come June and Europe’s biggest clubs are circling.

Tottenham would prefer to sell the Dane, 27, rather than lose him for nothing next year, with Real Madrid among the clubs interested in the playmaker.

Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici has been scouting him for a long time, according to Calciomercato.

Real Madrid is also reportedly interested in Eriksen as returning boss Zinedine Zidane is believed to be an admirer.

Juventus have been in talks with the player’s entourage and are considering placing an offer in the summer.

Spurs reportedly still believe Eriksen will eventually sign a contract extension as they cling on to hope they may be able to keep him.

Eriksen has scored seven goals and set up 12 for his team-mates in 38 appearances in all competitions this campaign for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Juventus could also be set to offer Alexis Sanchez a way out of Manchester United – but only if he accepts a pay cut.

The Italian giants like the idea of Sanchez linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin but are being put off by the £500,000-a-week wages the Chilean is on at Old Trafford.

They have already agreed to pay his former Arsenal team-mate Aaron Ramsey £400,000 a week when he joins in the summer but, according to Calcio Mercato, will not be matching Sanchez’s current pay.

Sanchez has struggled since swapping the Emirates Stadium for Manchester 14 months ago with injuries often hampering his progress and preventing him from getting a run in the team. He is on a five-year deal.

He has scored just two goals this season, one in the league and one in the FA Cup, the most recent in a win at Arsenal at the end of January.

Meanwhile, United must finish in the top four to have any chance of signing Roma defender Kostas Manolas. –Mailonline
