Isaac Mensah eyes victory against Kotoko on Sunday

Accra Hearts of Oak forward, Isaac Mensah is hoping to extend his goal scoring form to Sunday’s high-profile game against Asante Kotoko.

Mensah has emerged the saviour of the Phobians after coming on as a substitute to secure wins against Ebusua Dwarfs and Dansoman Liberty Professionals in the match days 15 and 16 matches.

On Sunday when they face Asante Kotoko, Mensah is hoping the form displayed so far will be enough to fetch him a starting berth in the team to face the Porcupine Warriors.

“I feel I have done well within the short period giving me on the field. Sitting on the bench is not something one can be excited about but that decision is always made by the coach.”

“The coach has an idea as to how he wants the team to play. And since there are more players capable of playing at the same position, then one must surely wait for his time on the bench,” he said after the win over Liberty Professionals.

But in his view, what he has shown on the field so far should be enough to convince the coach to start him.

“That will mean that the coach would not wait for things to be tougher before bringing somebody to change the game in his favour.”

Ahead of the clash, the in-form forward believes that the game will not be an easy one but was confident Hearts will come out victorious with the three points

“Mentally and psychologically, we are prepared for the match. It is important for the fans; in fact it means the world to them and we will approach it as such although it would not determine the winner of the league.”
