IPMC, Ghana honours 8 personalities

THE International Pastors and Ministers’Conference (IPMC) Ghana, has honoured eight personalities in the Christian faith in Ghana for excelling in their various endeavours in Accra on Wednesday.

The ceremony dubbed the ‘International Leadership Award’was in collaboration with the senate and the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey in the United States of America (USA).

The awardees include former Supreme Court Judge in Ghana and the Gambia Prof.Justice Samuel Kofi Date-Bah who received the global excellence awards for academia, governance and justice and Mrs Sheila Y.N Minka Premo, a member of Appeals Board for peaceful resolution of disputes of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), in Ho, received global excellence award for law and human rights.

Rev Regina Eva Addae received the global excellence award for media and Christian leadership, Alexander Kwaku Adu took home the quantity surveying and exceptional corporate awards while a media practitioner with AdomFm, Kwamena Idan had the media leadership and most outstanding radio gospel show host awards.

The rest were Mrs Ernestina Naana Hagan, law and human rights awards, Mrs Czarima Baeta Ribero had the leadership in pharmacy awards and Madam Lydia Lariba Bawa took home the law,gender and exceptional corporate leadership awards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Justice Henrietta Abban(rtd) said it was time Christians forged ahead with the gospel of salvation in order to win souls for Christ.

She said Christians should have time for others despite their busy schedule adding that “we have to stop chasing titles and academic laurels but rather ran after those who do not know Christ”.

According to the retired Appeal Court judge, Christ was interested in those who were zealous about his work daily and urged Christians to remain focus in their faith as well as remain dedicated to the work of God in all their endeavours.

The Executive Chairman of IPMC Rev George Abaidoo in an interview with the media said the conference had awarded about 35 people across the West African sub region for the past five years.

He said Christians who had excelled in various fields of work were honoured and celebrated to serve as a motivation to other Christians.

“The awards seek to recognise Christians who support the preaching of the word of God and the church at large,” he added.

He urged Christians to preach the Gospel of Christ wherever they found themselves especially through their professions.
