IMMANUEL MEHODIST WOMEN’S SOCIETY CELEBRATE 20TH ANNIVERSARY

The Superintendent Minister of the Airport East Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, Very Rev. Dr. Jacob W. French, has challenged Christian women to live in accordance with their biblical motherly care attitude by making the well-being of others their greatest concern and help the needy in society.

He said being Christian women imposed on them the responsibility of manifesting love not only towards each other, but most importantly, to the less fortunate citizens of the world who were challenged daily in finding a meaningful living.

Very Rev. Dr. French made the remarks during the unveiling of a stainless steel balustrade constructed for the Immanuel Methodist Chapel at East Airport, in Accra by the Women’s Fellowship at a Thanksgiving Service to climax their 20th Anniversary celebration.

In addition to the balustrade, the Immanuel Methodist Women’s Fellowship, founded in the year 2001, as part of its 20th anniversary activities held a symposium on ‘Building a strong marriage life: Anger, Media and Sex in Perspective’, donated assorted items to the Ga Sub-Urban Circuit and presented awards to 10 outstanding senior members of the fellowship.

Rev. Dr French commended the Women’s Fellowship for showing love towards the Ga Sub-urban Circuit of the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana by donating clothes, toiletries and assorted items, a gesture he described ‘as a good case of Christian and human touch.’

In a sermon on the theme, ‘’Wealth and the Kingdom of God’’, Rev. Fiifi Afenfyi-Donkoren treated Christians not to put their hope and trust in wealth but rather in the Lord, as stated in the Bible, and be faithful.

He said the Kingdom of God would go beyond every human boundary to bless faithful Christians and guide in the right way.
