The Member of Parliament (MP) for Adaklu Constituency in the Volta Region, Kwame Agbodza, has pledged his dedication and commitment to work for the growth and development of Adaklu to justify the trust and confidence of the people.
“I am not the most educated, the wealthiest nor the most handsome in Adaklu so my being elected to represent Adaklu Constituency in Parliament is not a right but a privilege, which requires me to serve the people in humility, selflessness and bring progress, growth and development to them,” he assured.
Mr Agbodza said he was ready to work with other stakeholders to reduce the district’s infrastructural deficit such as classroom blocks and nurses’ quarters, among others so as to improve livelihoods, create jobs and wealth for the people.
He made the pledge at the commissioning of a two-unit nurses’ quarters for the Adaklu Hlihave Community Health Planning Services Compound in the Adaklu district which cost GH¢229,000 which was funded with his share of the MP Common Fund.
Mr Agbodza admonished residents and citizens of Adaklu to join hands with him to transform the area into an enviable one and should not sit aloof and wait for the government to solve all their problems for them since it had many challenges to resolve adding that “it is time for us to take our destiny into our own hands”.
“From a humble beginning of six health facilities in 2012 when the district was created, it can now boast of 17 and the 18th at Adaklu Have will be commissioned soon, I commend the people of Adaklu Hlihave for their communal spirit, it is because of your communal spirit that Pencils of Promise (PoP) agreed to assist and support other communities’ classroom blocks.
“PoP has constructed 28 classroom blocks in the district while the 29th will be commissioned soon and it is unprecedented, and has helped eliminate most schools under trees in the district and I appeal to you to invest in the education of your children which is the greatest legacy you can leave them,” Mr Agbodza said.
