‘I’ll provide meaningful devt if…’

Kofi  Amankwa-Manu, the Head of Impact Assessment Unit at the Presidency,  an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has promised meaningful development for the area if he gets the nod to represent the people on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

A native of Atwima Foase, he noted that the constituents in the area deserved better in terms of infrastructural development especially road networks as they could not boast of better road networks in the area.

Filing his nomination forms at the NPP constituency office at Twedie, Mr. Amankwa-Manu stressed that “the people of Atwima Kwanwoma need change that will lead to more and meaningful development and I know we are all patiently waiting for that day, I
have a vision to collaborate with the One-District-One-Factory Secretariat to establish a ginger factory as our area is noted for producing the commodity.

“There should be significant developmental projects that have to be beneficial to all in the constituency so as to attract investment and improve livelihoods,” he assured.

Receiving the nomination forms, Prince Karikari, the Constituency Secretary of the NPP, advised the aspirant to be conscious of his campaign activities and also be mindful of protecting and maintaining the peace, stability and unity within the party in the constituency in the course of his campaign.

He urged other parliamentary aspirants contesting in the region must be decorous in their campaigns devoid of derogatory remarks so as to make the party attractive to win all 47 seats in the region.

Mr. Amankwa-Manu, if qualified by the vetting committee of the party, will be contesting the constituency primary for the third time as he has lost twice to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Kojo Appiah-Kubi, who has been representing the people in the constituency for 12 years and will be contesting for re-election.

Before his appointment at the presidency, he was serving as the constituency First Vice Chairman of the party in Atwima Kwanwoma.
