Ideal Ladies appeal for sponsorship …face John Michael’s Ladies today

Greater Accra Women’s Division One League side, Ideal Ladies has appealed to organisations and individuals to come to the aid of the club as they campaign in the Greater Accra Women’s Division One League (DOL).

The club, according to its founder, Dzormo Adzekwei, is facing challenges as regards logistics, equipments and finance.

Speaking to the Times Sports, yesterday, Madam Adzekwei said the Kaneshie based club lack sponsorship and finds it difficult to motivate the young and talented girls.

“We are faced with a lot of challenges from financial, sports wears and equipment and feeding. The club survives on the benevolence of individuals who are impressed with the work we are doing. We are open to organisations and benevolent groups that want to support us,” she said.

Speaking on the club’s performance and target for this season, the ex-footballer revealed that despite their woes, her outfit was poised on securing top-flight football next season.

“We won’t allow our troubles to distract us from achieving our goal. We have started well with wins in our first two games; that is a good sign,” she added.

Ideal Ladies will engage John Michael’s Ladies at the Abofu AstroTurf tomorrow in a 2022/23 Women’s Division One League match day three clash.

The side sits sixth on the league log with four points, having secured a 2-1 victory over Teshie Constant Ladies in their opening encounter before suffering a painful 1-0 defeat to Ghana Revenue Authority Ladies last weekend.
