A 45-year-old hunter, Kwabena Bronya, died after his brother accidentally shot him while on their way to hunt game in the Okyerekrom forest, near Nyinahin, in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
Bronya and suspect,Kwadwo Nkrumah, lived at Nzema-Nkwanta, near Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal of the Western North Region.
Information gathered indicated that on their way to hunt in the forest, Bronya, gave his gun, which was loaded with bullets to his brother, Nkrumah, while he (Bronya) attended to nature’s call.
Nkrumah, however, accidentally pulled the trigger and shot Bronya to death.
Nkrumah and a Good Samaritan rushed Bronya to the Bibiani Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, Nkrumah had been handed over to the Nyinahin police, to assist in investigations whilst the body of Bronya had been deposited at Bibiani Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
