Handball: Unique Fingers overcome Great Fingers…in Greater Accra league

Unique Fingers handball team defeated Great Fingers by 26-19 in their week six game of the ongoing Greater Accra Handball League played at the Prison’s Handball Court at the weekend.

Great Fingers started on a bright note to take the lead which they surrendered to their experienced opponents who were led in attack by Richard Mensah.

Mensah score 13 goals to aid his side to victory.

Elsewhere, Ghana Airforce proved superior in their game against El Wak Wings, beating them 42-27; Ghana Prisons Service defeated Kaneshie Royals 30-22 with Ghana Police brushing aside the University of Ghana team aside with a 28-18 win while Ghana Navy beat Legonites 31-24.

In the female category, Cantonment Youth failed to hold on to their lead as they fell to a 23-19 defeat to the Ghana Fire Service.

Meanwhile, week seven action will commence today at the Prisons Court with Ghana Navy taking on the University of Ghana in the first game of the day. This will be followed by the clash of the services, Ghana Police Service versus Ghana Fire Service.

Tomorrow, Great Fingers will take on Kaneshie Royals with Ghana Prisons Service facing Kasland in the day’s other game.

The action continues on Saturday with El Wak Wings playing host to Ghana Navy, Cantonment Youth will face Unique Fingers with Legonites sorting it out with Ghana Airforce.

In the ladies division, a fierce battle is expected as Ghana Police ladies take on Ghana Fire Service today with Ghana Prisons locking horns with Kasland while Cantonment Youth and Unique Fingers battle it out on Saturday.
