HAG opens nomination for elections
The Handball Association of Ghana (HAG) has opened nominations for the election of a First Vice President and Treasurer, respectively for the association. The move falls in line with the HAG’s constitutional requirement to fill the respective position, having failed to amass the required numbers to be declared winners at its last Elective Congress.
According to a statement signed by Mr. Charles Obeng Amofah, Secretary General of HAG, the candidates for the two positions failed to garner the ’50% + 1’ of the total valid votes cast at the last elections of the association.
Consequently, the association has asked interested individuals to pick nomination forms at the HAG Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium, from now to Monday, March 28, 2023, between the hours of 10am to 5pm each working day.
According to the statement, nomination forms for the First Vice President slot is sold at GH¢2,000.00 and that of the Treasurer pegged at GH¢1,000.00.
It said “After the aforementioned deadline, a date for vetting of all aspirants will be announced accordingly.”
That, according to the statement, would be followed by a notice of elective congress to all stakeholders in accordance with the constitution of HAG.
